== Essential ==

Install in your system the tool or enter in the directory where you have putted the tool and give the command: 

 > dr14_tmeter [your music directory] 

When the computation is finished you will find in your music directory the file ''dr14.txt'' described above.  
For example if your favorite album is stored in the directory ''/home/donald-duck/mymusic/wow music'' you shold take the command: 

 > dr14_tmeter "/home/donald-duck/mymusic/wow music" 

If you are located in a music directory you should give the command without options, and it scans the current directory:
 
 > dr14_tmeter 

For scanning a single file we must use the option ''-f'' :

 > dr14_tmeter -f "/home/donald-duck/mymusic/wow music/hallo.mp3" 

For more information type the command: 

 > ./dr14_tmeter --help

== Advanced ==
=== output tables ===

dr14_tmeter is capable to produce the output tables also in '''html''', '''bbcode''' and '''mediawiki''' formats. For having these files you must use the option ''-t (or --tables)'' by definig the desired formats with the codes ''t = text''; ''h = html''; ''b = bbcode'', ''w = mediawiki'' and ''a = all'' .

For example:
 > dr14_tmeter /music/myalbum -t tw
writes out the files ''dr14.txt'' and ''dr14_mediawiki.txt'' in the directory ''/music/myalbum'' that respectively contains a tabbed text file and a mediawiki table.

The command:
 > dr14_tmeter /music/myalbum -t a
writes the resulting files files in all supported format.

If we want a minimalistic output table we must uses the option ''-b'' :
 > dr14_tmeter /music/myalbum -b

* Note that all tabbed text files [''dr14.txt''] generated by dr14_tmeter v0.9.0, or superior, are fully compatible with the [http://www.dr.loudness-war.info DR database]

=== Recursive scan ===

With the option ''-r'' we can scan the subdirectory recursively.
The command:
 > dr14_tmeter /music/my_albums -r 
Scans all subdirectory of ''/music/my_albums'' and write the results in each music directory.

=== Output files ===
If we want to write the resulting files in an other directory you must use the option ''-o [target dir]''

For example:
 > dr14_tmeter /music/album -o /tmp -t a
Writes the the resulting files in ''/tmp''.

The option ''-a'' says to ''dr14_tmeter'' to append the result in the existing files.

For example the command
 > dr14_tmeter /music/my_albums -o /tmp -r -a
writes the results of all recursively scanned albums in the file ''/tmp/dr14.txt''

The option ''-n'' completely disable the output files.

== Others options ==

The option ''-1'' disable the multi-core computing, it should not be used.

The options ''-d'' can be used to disable the compatibility with the ''DR database'' and 
''-p'' writes the result on the console.

For example:
 > dr14_tmeter /media/music -d 0 -p 
prints the result on the terminal (STDOUT) with a format not compatible with ''DR database'' but better-looking.
